To me, Open Source plainly means source available and open for modification.
Of course this had been made stringent by the OSI and the general open-source communities that generally makes the basic software free for all types of use.

Personally, I embrace the more open OSS licences like Apache, MIT which truly spur innovation in the commercial applications
I'm not so much for GPL which is very anti-business IMHO.
